We spent a few days last week at Kentucky Lake. When we planned this trip, we knew we'd be past "peak season" going after labor day, however we weren't quite ready for temps in the 70's and the remnants of a hurricane. Needless to say, that kept us from swimming or boating but we found some other fun to have. Simple things like throwing rocks in the lake, fishing at the dock and playing with bubbles allowed us all to slow down for a few days and spend some time together.
While most of the mini-golf, bumper car and other arcades were closed during the week now that we were "post season" we were able to find a bit of fun at Patti's Settlement. Mitchell was really excited to drive the remote controlled boats. Even Allen got in on the action. We enjoyed lunch, a little window shopping and just wandering the grounds (to include a playground!) on a lovely, sunny mid-70's day.
We also made a trip to the Land Between the Lakes for more out door fun! We did quite a bit there, so I'll save that for another post. It was great to get away to somewhere new and enjoy the beautiful weather.
