Allen is in a crazy phase of growing and developing, and if I don't pause to record and remember all these wonderful moments, I know they will get lost. Again with that second child syndrome, right?
Allen has been talking up a storm the past couple months. It all started with "ball." That was definitely his first word....now he quite the repertoire.
Ball
Pup-pup (Puppy)
Duck (this is as clear as a bell an the thing he says most often).
Mo-mo (More-nearly exactly how Mitchell said this at first too)
Truck
Stuck
Snack
Cup
Bowl
Wa Wa (water)
Mil (milk)
kitty cat
Sit (as in I want to sit here, help me up!)
Binky- (but that word sounds nothing like binky, but he's consistent)
Blanket
Book
Night-Night
This
Get that or Look it (I think it's "get that," daycare thinks it's "look it"- as in look at it)
I'm sure the list goes on, and he's defnitely attempting to repeat everything we say. He will also give us a sentance of jibberish, but his intonation tells us he is saying something quite important.
His adoration for Mitchell continues to melt my heart. Today, Mitchell was sad at drop off (because Mommy wouldn't let him take his lovey to school). As Allen was leaving Mitchell's room, I asked him if he had a hug for Mitchell. Allen ran back and smiled at him, leaned into him and gave him a kiss. Mitchell grumpily accepted it, but I know deep down he loved it. He just had to keep his grumpy show going for my benefit. Allen will also trot into Mitchell's room in the morning or go over to where he's lounging on the couch. He'll stand right in front of him and give a cheery HI! Again, during Mitchell's quiet moments, he doesn't always appreciate it, but it's terrific to watch.
Allen will also lay in his bed and exchange night-nights with me. As I leave, I say "I love you" and hear a little "of you" from behind the binky as I close the door....generally that is followed by crying, but thankfully, that's short lived!
